Duleep Trophy 2025 Live Score: Danish Malewar’s brilliant double century and a stunning collapse from North East Zone left Central Zone firmly in control at the end of day two of their Duleep Trophy clash at the BCCI COE Ground. Malewar, resuming on 198, reached his maiden first-class double century with a boundary before retiring at 203, anchoring Central’s mammoth 532/4 declared in 102 overs. Yash Rathod provided solid support with an unbeaten 87, while Shubham Sharma chipped in with 34.
North East made a steady start in reply, as openers Yumnam Karnajit and Doria stitched together 72 runs. But once Harsh Dubey bowled Doria, Central wrested back control. Karnajit, agonisingly short of a fifty, was run out by skipper Rajat Patidar, sparking a dramatic collapse. Jehu Anderson fell stumped to Dubey, before Yash Thakare ran through the middle order, dismissing Thapa (35), Chetri, and Pheiroijam in quick succession. Malewar capped his day with a run out of R. Jonathan, leaving North East wobbling at 168/7 in 65 overs.
From 128/2, North East’s slide to 168/7 epitomised their struggles. Still 364 runs adrift, they face an uphill battle to avoid defeat, while Central Zone tightened their grip with a dominant all-round display.
