Satya Nadella: Microsoft

Education:

  • B.E. in Electrical Engineering: Manipal Institute of Technology, India
  • M.S. in Computer Science: University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee
  • MBA: University of Chicago Booth School of Business

After a brief stint at Sun Microsystems, Nadella joined Microsoft in 1992. Over the next two decades, he held leadership roles in enterprise and cloud computing before being named CEO in 2014. His leadership steered Microsoft into the era of cloud computing and artificial intelligence, dramatically boosting its market value.

Sundar Pichai: Google and Alphabet

Education:

  • B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering: IIT Kharagpur
  • M.S. in Materials Science & Engineering: Stanford University
  • MBA: Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania

Pichai began as an engineer at Applied Materials before joining Google in 2004. He rose quickly, spearheading products like Google Chrome and Google Drive. Named CEO of Google in 2015 and Alphabet in 2019, Pichai has focused on AI, cloud services, and consumer hardware, cementing Google’s global dominance.

Neal Mohan: YouTube

Education:

  • B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering: Stanford University
  • MBA: Stanford University Graduate School of Business
  • Schooling: St. Francis’ College, India

Mohan began at Accenture, moved into the advertising technology space with DoubleClick, and joined Google after its acquisition. At YouTube, he served as Chief Product Officer before becoming CEO in 2023, leading the platform’s push into new forms of content, e-commerce integration, and creator monetisation.

Shantanu Narayen: Adobe

Education:

  • B.E. in Electronics & Communication: Osmania University, Hyderabad
  • M.S. in Computer Science: Bowling Green State University
  • MBA: University of California, Berkeley (Haas School of Business)

After working at Apple and Silicon Graphics, Narayen joined Adobe in 1998. He became CEO in 2007 and transformed the company from boxed software to a subscription-based cloud leader, making Adobe Creative Cloud a standard in creative industries worldwide.

Arvind Krishna: IBM

Education:

  • B.Tech in Electrical Engineering: IIT Kanpur
  • M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering: University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign

Krishna’s IBM journey began in 1990 as a researcher. Over the years, he led key initiatives in cloud computing, blockchain, and AI. Appointed CEO in 2020 and Chairman in 2021, he has driven IBM’s strategy towards hybrid cloud solutions and strategic acquisitions.

Leena Nair: Chanel

Education:

  • B.E. in Electronics & Telecommunication: Walchand College of Engineering, Maharashtra
  • MBA in Human Resources: XLRI Jamshedpur (Gold Medalist)

Nair joined Unilever in 1992 as a management trainee, eventually becoming its youngest and first female Global Chief Human Resources Officer. In 2022, she made history as the first Indian-origin person and first woman to become CEO of French luxury house Chanel, bringing a people-first approach to an industry known for tradition.

Ajay Banga: World Bank

Education:

  • B.A. in Economics: St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University
  • Post Graduate Programme (MBA equivalent): Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad

Banga’s career began at Nestlé and PepsiCo, where he helped expand their footprint in India. He joined Citigroup in 1996, later becoming CEO of Mastercard in 2010, driving its global expansion and financial inclusion agenda.
